Chatbots
Chatbots are interactive robots by an unknown company. According
to a Sohu article, the toy became popular within a week of its launch.
It was displayed on the 12th of December in 2002 at the Fashion Life Festival
in Beijing. I think Electrolux might have created it, since the logo can be seen
on the outfit of the person in the above photo.
Appearance
The toy resembles a silver robot with a round head that has a blue, helmet-like
design with antennae. It has a silver circle on each side of its head, three
silver bumps on its front with a silver dot on its chest, and four blue spots.
It has a pair of silver arms with blue hands and shoulders. It has three small lines
on its forehead and a pair of red eyes. It also has a blue spot on top of its head.
Features
There isn't much information on this toy. While they're referred to as "Chatbots"
by news articles, a sign in the photo refers to the toy as "Homo". The sign also says
it is an intelligent robot that can understand Chinese ("能听得懂中国话的智能机器人"); This
COULD imply it has voice recognition. The toy has three built-in modes for the following
types of people: elderly, youth, and children. According to the title of a Sohu article, it
is able to imitate real life scenarios. I'm not sure on what this means.
