Pixy the Living Robot is an Italian interactive robot from Clementoni.
The robot sort of looks like a tank with a rectangular head, with rounded edges, attached. The robot is mostly white with a little antenna tipped with orange. It has orange treads with white wheels, and an orange outline around its head. The front of the robot’s body is partly orange, and the face of the robot is black with an LCD screen.
Pixy can move about and display different colored eyes and eye animations, including custom ones users can create via Pixy’s app. Pixy can also display other animations on his face, related to what he does.
Using the cubes that come with Pixy, you can make Pixy perform different actions.
If you insert a cube that will glow green into Pixy's back, and you place Pixy on top of a drawn line on paper, Pixy will use his IR sensor to ensure he stays on the line, and follows the directions of the line.
Insert a cube that will glow red, and Pixy will get angry and hit any object you place infront of him.
Insert a cube that will glow purple, and Pixy will dance while playing a tune. Pixy can play up to five tunes in this mode.
Insert a cube that will glow fuchsia, and Pixy will avoid hitting objects he encounters.
If you place Pixy inside a ring you have drawn on paper (or you can use the sheet of paper that comes with the robot), and insert a cube that will glow yellow, Pixy will play "sumo" where he pushes his enemies (any inanimate object you placed infront of him) outside the ring.
Insert a cube that will glow orange, and you can get Pixy to follow your hand or move away from it. If you start moving your hand toward Pixy, Pixy will move away, but if you move your hand away from him, he will chase after it.
Pixy’s app lets you program him via block based programming, control his movements in real time, play games that involve interaction with him, and, as mentioned earlier, you can use the app to create eye animations for him.
