"GP Flair is bringing toys to life in more ways than one with some brand new additions to its tech division. Baby monster Xeno introduces a smaller friend to play with. The big news for 2015 is a new addition ot the Xeno family - Xeno Koopies. These loveable yet cheeky little monsters interact and play with kids." — Toys n Playthings (Vol. 34 No.11, Page 70)
Koopies are a series of interactive, trembling toys with moving eyes from Giochi Preziosi. They are friends of Xeno and can interact with him.
The toy requires three AAA batteries.
They resemble round, rubber balls covered in bristles. Their ears are shaped like Xeno’s; sort of like droopy rabbit ears covered in bristles with three rubber tips, shaped like droplets, hanging from the ends of each ear. They have wide mouths, with a pair of teeth that protrude from its lower jaw near the left end of its mouth and another pair of teeth that protrudes from its lower jaw at the right end of its mouth. They have a pair of orange eyes with yellow circles in them, a small purple nose, and small black pupils. They have a tail with three, stretchy, rubbery tips at the end.
It also has hands that each have three nails, and three toes with nails on the left side of its body and on the right side of its body (I would say "feet" but they look more like toes that are just stuck to its body).
Their eyes glow in the dark and move, they tremble, and they make different noises. According to the manual, they make more than 70 types of sounds and respond to sounds they hear. They react to being rolled across a surface, having their cheeks, ears, and tails pulled, being shaken, and being fed. They will respond if you squeeze them by pushing the left and right sides of its body. Aside from stretching and squeezing the toy, it will apparently still respond if you only press its touch sensors.
They can respond when you play music near them. Sometimes they may like the music, sometimes they might not. According to the manual, they apparently like being bounced up and down or thrown from hand to hand.
If left alone for a few minutes, it will try to get your attention, but if you still don't interact with it, it will fall asleep.
They react to being stretched, and having their tail pulled. They can also talk to Xeno or another Koopie; apparently this can happen when Xeno or another Koopie is placed in front of your Koopie.
The first three images on this page, and the images below seem to depict prototypes. I don't know if the eyes for the type shown in the first and second image on this page move or not. The sclera for the eyes of the Koopies in the images below and the first two images on this page is yellow, but the released ones have white scleras for their eyes.
Photos of all three colors exist, showing them with eyes that look different. I don't even know if the eyes for them are mechanical or not, and even their bristles look more stiff.
