Mitsui Direct & Poo-Chi Campaign

An image from Mitsui Direct's website announcing that 2000 people could win the limited edition Poo-Chi. A brown Poo-Chi wearing goggles is present, and so are the dates for the campaign.

Incase you're wondering, Mitsui Direct is a Japanese insurance company for vehicles. This campaign ran from the 1st of October, 2001 until the 30th of November in the same year.

In the campaign, 2,000 people would be selected to win a Poo-Chi based off the company's mascot, Papa Goggles, who resembles a brown dog wearing goggles. I don't know if the prize Poo-Chi is actually brown like the mascot. I saw one on eBay a while back, but don't remember what color scheme it had and don't want to accidentally provide misinformation. However, it did come with goggles.

You could apply for the campaign either online or via phone. I'm a little confused on what Mitsui's website says exactly, but it seems you needed to either apply for a contract or you could request a quote?? They did mention that they wouldn't always be able to provide a quote, due to reasons such as vehicle type.

The website states that by doing either of the two options they mentioned, you would have the chance to obtain the Poo-Chi. Winners might have been contacted by email to confirm their delivery addresses before their Poo-Chis were delivered. Mitsui Direct planned on shipping the Poo-Chis to the winners in late December that year.

The Poo-Chis were given away in yellow cardboard boxes like the one picture below.
