Ultimate Mission Sox

Ultimate Mission Sox is an interactive toy from Mattel, based on a robot cat named Sox from Pixar’s “Lightyear” movie. It was released in 2022.

Appearance

The cat is yellow with the tips of its paws and tail being white. It also has a white tummy area and a white muzzle. Its eyes are green, it wears a blue collar with a gray, round tag that mentions his name, and he has pink inner ears. He also has a pink nose and yellow eyelids.

Functions

Sox can turn his head left or right, blink his eyes (with movement from his bottom and top eyelids), and walk. You can interact with Sox by giving him voice commands, and he can be set to six different play modes, using the data chips he comes with.

Data Chip ColorFunction
Dark blueSoothing sounds — Makes sound effects such as whale calls, chirping crickets, and splashing ocean waves
TealAsk Sox — Pet Sox's head, ask any yes/no question, and Sox will give you a response.
OrangeMaintenance Check-Up — Test out all of Sox's sensors to ensure they all work.
YellowSpace Exploration Trivia — Pet Sox's head to hear him ask a trivia question.
GreenT'Kani Prime Training Mode — Plays a game where if you hear Sox play certain sound effects, you should respond accordingly. He will tell you to duck when you hear bugs, jump when you hear vines, but touch his head if you hear him meow.
RedSecret Code Emergency — Touch Sox's head to hear classified messages from Buzz.

He has a sensor on top of his head, and a sensor on the left and the right sides of his face. He also has two on his back, one being closer to the tail while the other is at the middle on top of his body.

The direction in which he walks, depends on where you pet him. If you pull and hold his collar tag for about 2-3 seconds or leave him alone for about 2 minutes, he will fall asleep. You can wake him back up by pulling his tag again.

Alternative Name

The toy was also sold as "Cadet Training Sox" with a "cadet belt" you can use to attach the data chips to.
