Yippety Yay Jess

Yippety Yay Jess is a walking toy from Fisher-Price, based on Jess the cat from a show called Guess with Jess.

While the tag mentions the year 2009, the toy was apparently released in 2010, and it requires four AA batteries.

Functions

Whenever you press the bell on his collar, Jess either walks while either asking you questions or saying phrases. He can play the Yippety Yay song after he reveals the answers to the questions he asks.

Has a brown pendant on his collar instead of a yellow one, and his face is shaped differently.

An article announcing this toy used an image of this prototype, and there is concept art of a store display where the image of the prototype was edited to make it look like it was in a box belonging to a Yippety Yay Jess toy.

Odd Listing Image

I'm guessing this one is a prototype. The yellow pendant on his collar is different, and it doesn't look as fluffy as the released version, to me.

Extra Info

The Fisher-Price website had the toy listed as "Yippity Yeah Jess", and apparently retailers selling the toy also had it listed under this name.

A zavvi.com listing and a product page description of comparestoreprices.co.uk (a website which seems to have images and descriptions for different toys from various websites) mentions a few things I can't verify as I don't have a copy of the manual. Apparently pressing his bell can cause it to jingle and pressing his head can trigger phrases and his song. Oddly, the description also mentions that the toy moves its tail up and down, but it can't be seen doing this in videos. It also doesn't mention that pressing his bell is what makes him speak, and it mentions that the collar is made of plastic when it isn't.

Just like on the show, Jess is constantly curious and loves to dance around in a circle while singing his Yippety-yay, Yippety-yay! Yippety-yay Hooray song!! Just pet the top of Jess's head to hear him share fun clues about his personality as his tail wags up & down. The more you pet his head, the more Jess will respond through speech and movement. Such as: "Come and guess with me!"; What do I shake when I'm happy?" "My furry tail!"; and "Do you know what my favorite thing to do is?" "The Yippity Yeah Dance!".

After a series of pets, Jess will be so excited he will automatically start to sing & dance around in a circle to the Yippety Yah Hooray song. The child can also press Jess's bell to hear a fun bell sfx. followed by Jess singing & dancing to a pre- programmed version of the song.

The 12 inch long Jess is made from soft plush fabrics, with a sculpted plastic collar & bell charm for added texture.
