Tonga rabbit (とんがらびっと) is a plush speaker for mobile phones, resembling a rabbit. It was given away in a campaign by Nissin in 2000, for their Tongarashi Noodles brand.
The speaker resembles a plush red rabbit that wears a green cap with a green stem poking out from the top, resembling the top of a chilli. It also has a chilli attached to its back. It has a black pair of eyes, and a little, red, translucent heart on the left of its chest.
You can plug your mobile phone into the rabbit with a cord the rabbit the comes with, and the rabbit’s mouth and neck will move as the person you’re talking to on the phone speaks.
Only 5,000 Tonga Rabbits were to be given away in the sweepstake. The sweepstake was to begin in early August, 2000, and conclude on the 31st of October that year. To enter, you had collect "Nissin Marks" from certain Nissin products, and send them with a postcard to the following address:
