Aptitude Owl

A silver Aptitude Owl outside its box

Aptitude Owl is a knockoff toy with a robotic appearance, based on a Pokemon called Noctowl. The company that created it is unknown, but the company could be the one responsible for selling a Kitbot knockoff, since the packaging has the same type of art.

Appearance

The toy features a plastic figure of Noctowl with a pair of red, translucent eyes. A silver chrome piece of plastic is used to resemble the feathers above its eyes which form its “horns”, and its tummy area is somewhat shaped like a heart. It has a large circle on each wing, a tail, a beak, and a pair of feet with black claws. Aptitude Owl is perched on a stand that resembles a tree branch with an oval-shaped golden sticker on the front. There are no clear photos revealing what the sticker says.

Aptitude Owl's wings are very similar to Dai-Chan's wings. Maybe the same mold was used.

Color Variations

The toy is known to come in two variations.

A silver version outside its box

One color variation is mostly silver. The circles on its wings and the tummy area are gold.

The other color variation is mostly red, with a blue tummy area and blue circles on its wings. This red version of the toy is flocked, unlike the silver version.

Functions

The toy can flap its wings and make its eyes glow. There are no videos of the toy, but the box art implies the toy can play music, and the toy looks like it can move its head.

Other Versions

The alternative version of the toy in its box

An alternate version called "Recording Bird" exists, but only one color variation is known to exist. The name seems to imply it can record your voice and play back what you said. The only-known color variant has a pearl white body and head, with blue claws, eyes, and wings. The feathers above its eyes are also blue. Unlike Aptitude Owl, Recording Bird has translucent wings, a black beak, and it has the word "birdy" in blue on its chest.

The one in the above picture seems to have a wing broken off.
