Baby Gupi

Baby Gupi is a toy guinea pig which was sold by thumbsUp. It requires two AAA batteries, and appears to have retailed for £9.99.

The toy appears to have been released in or sometime around 2013 (I don't have confirmation on what year it was released in).

Appearance

He’s a little brown guinea pig with a short dark brown tail, a black round nose, and a pair of eyes with large black pupils and a brown iris in each eye. He has a small pair of brown ears which are pink inside, and a pair of whiskers on the left and right sides of his face.

Functions

He has two play modes. One allows him to move forwards only; you can place him in a hamster wheel in this mode or a hamster ball. In the other mode, he will move in different directions, and if he bumps into something with his snout, he will move in a different direction.

Baby Gupi has a button on the back of his neck and responds when you press it, and he can fall asleep if he is not being played with. To wake him up if he does this, you can nudge him or clap your hands. He can also make different noises while running around or being interacted with.

Baby Gupi moves about on wheels; he doesn't have moving legs.

Oddly, Baby Gupi also has a "Try Me" mode, where he makes different sounds if you press the button on the back of his neck. Other than that, he doesn't move or make sounds by himself in this mode. The box doesn't have a hole to allow you to press the button to hear him in this mode, but the back of the box and manual mention this mode exists.
