Cookie

Cookie (クッキー) is a robot hamster sold by Takara, JinYuFeng, Wei Di, and an unknown company. Despite Takara calling Cookie a hamster, the toy was sold as "Mouse" by JinYuFeng, Wei Di, and an unknown company. The unknown company sold Cookie with a version of Jaretto, a robot cat.

Takara's retail price for Cookie was 1980 yen, and they released it in 2000.

Appearance

Takara and JinYuFeng's version of Cookie look the same; Cookie has a translucent head, body, and pair of ears, with a silver stripe that goes around his body, and a silver mouth area with four whiskers and a mouth, painted on. The version of Cookie sold with Jaretto by an unknown company, shares the same appearance.

A version of Cookie, sold by Wei Di, is fully white, with a blue or gold mouth area, and its mouth and whiskers painted on; unlike the previous version of Cookie mentioned, this version has a little nose painted on, and is not smiling.

Functions

They move around with bump and go action; if it hits an obstacle, it moves away from it, in another direction. Takara's website states Cookie has a light sensor, and will move away from you, if you try to catch him.

It's unknown if the other versions of Cookie have the same functionality. The box of Bump N Go Mouse, another version from a different company, shows an illustration of the toy with light-up eyes.

A few different versions of Cookie exist, from other companies. I don't know for sure if any of them are knockoffs or not. I think Bump 'N Go Mouse could be a knockoff, but Idk.

Other robo pets Takara sold had different versions of themselves sold by other companies. One example being Chatbird Dai-chan.

Cookie (Takara)

Cookie is only known to have been produced in yellow and pink color variations. A blue one may exist, but this is not confirmed.

Mouse (JinYuFeng)

Only known to have been sold in either green or purple. The box features an illustration of a blue one.

Bump N Go Mouse (Wei Di)

This version of Cookie and the first photo here were found by @diodamar on Discord. This version seems to be from around 2002.
