Fortune Lion Dance

Fortune Lion Dance (招財醒獅) is an animated toy from an unknown company. They require two C batteries.

About

They walk, bow, shake their tails, move their mouths, and sings a short portion of "Gong Xi Fa Cai" which mostly has drums playing with only one line from the song being played ("Gong xi ni fa cai"). The little bell on its tail rings as its tail shakes.


Four color variations exist, including a gold and black version, gold and red version, gold and yellow version, and a gold and white version.

Two electronic versions of these toys exist, including one with a sensor, that stops moving when nobody is near it anymore (this version apparently came out in 2019), and another version (which is apparently older) that only stops moving when you switch it off.

Knockoff Version

Apparently, a knockoff version of these guys exists which uses three AA batteries and appears to have eyes that are less translucent. It also has a red on/off switch, while the real version has a yellow on/off switch.

While one photo of the box on this page doesn't show a company name, the only company known to have sold this version of the toy is JZL.
