Yibei Elf

Yibei Elf (伊贝小精灵) is a knockoff 2012 Furby by Meijin Toys.

It is apparently 17 cm in height, and can be powered by four rechargeable or nonrechargeable AA batteries.

Appearance

In short: it's just a plastic Furby with a hat.

While it does look like a 2012 Furby, there are some differences. The toys aren't soft; the body of the toy, its feet, and tail are made of plastic. It wears a plastic, translucent hat on its head. They have a heart-shaped tummy area, which matches the color of its eyelids, and has a series of white buttons, with the middle one being heart-shaped.

Its eyes have flashing lights, not an LCD screen.

It comes in two color variations:

Cotton Candy

Cotton Candy or Pink Flare?? While the Cotton Candy Furby does not have yellow, the fact that it's pink and not purple, and the fact that its face, ears, and feet are blue, makes me think it's based off the Cotton Candy Furby... Don't know if they took inspiration from the other, but whatever.

This Yibei has a pink body, and a purple hat. It has a yellow tummy area, beak, pair of eyelids, tongue, and tail. Its faceplate and feet are a light shade of blue, while the ears are a darker shade of blue.

Starry Night

Again, this is the name of the Furby color variation that I think this knockoff's color variation was based on.

Its ears, faceplate, tail, and feet are yellow. It wears a brownish hat, has a blue tummy area, beak, tongue, and eyelids, and a darker shade of blue for its body.

Functions

It can swing its ears back and forth, open and close its eyes and beak, and it rocks back a little when it bends its ears back. In addition to having eyes with flashing lights, its tail also has a flashing light.

Unlike Furby, Yibei can move across on a flat surfaces and rotate; it can do these things on its own, or with the use of the remote control Yibei comes with. You can also use the remote to get it to open or close its eyes.

Yibei reacts to being slapped on the back of its head, can tell you Tang poetry, the Three Character Classic, or a story. It can also dance, play children's songs, and ask you questions. While it is a Chinese-speaking toy, it can try to teach some English.

You can press a button on the remote to put the toy in sleep mode. The remote also has a "lock" feature; I guess this turns it off or prevents you from getting it out of sleep mode easily on accident?? Not sure.

The assortment of buttons on the toy can be used to activate certain functions such as storytelling, teaching Engilsh, telling you Tang Poetry or the Three Character Classic, getting it to dance, or changing the song it's playing.
