WatchDog is a security and entertainment robot dog by Samsung. It was demonstrated at the Korea International Robot Technology Exhibition in 2005.
This dog appears to have had two prototypes of itself made. Both prototypes have a black spot on their heads, a large pair of wheels instead of back legs, a short pointy tail, a pair of front legs, and a black visor and snout. They also has a white, circular area above their mouths.
The numbering of each prototype is only used to differentiate between each one; it isn't mean to denote the order in which each one was made.
Prototype 1 is silver with gray feet and a gray jaw. Its tail is also gray, and it has no ears.
This dog's head looks similar to that of i-Cybie. It has a pair of green, glowing eyes in its visor, and a pointed ear attached to the left and right sides of its head.
Looks like prototype 2, but with a few differences. Its tail and the circle on each leg is gray instead of black, and its eyes in this photo look yellow for some reason.
WatchDog can move around, using its back wheels, and raise its front legs. It can bend its neck, and turn its head left or right, while bending its neck.
WatchDog can connect to mobile devices such as cellphones or PDAs. It offers entertainment and provides security; it has a karaoke function, it can dance, and its eyes are cameras, so you use it to monitor your home, while you're somewhere else.
In addition to being controlled by a mobile device, WatchDog can respond to voice commands if you press the button on its head.
