Fou Fou is an animated, plush toy from TOMY sold in 2002. I'm guessing its name has to do with how 'fou' in French translates to 'crazy'. It appears to have only been sold in Europe.
The toy resembles a fluffy, worm-like creature with a pair of plastic eyes, felt eyelashes, and a little nose. On its back, it has a pink bow with an iridescent, pink, fabric heart on top.
The toy is only known to have been produced in a dark shade of pink and a much lighter shade of pink with purple eyes. The dark pink version is not confirmed to have been released, but can be seen on an old version of TOMY's homepage.
When you pet her head she purrs and it trembles, and when you pet her tail she laughs and wiggles her tail. Apparently, she will give you a kiss if you press her nose, and she reacts to sound by talking in her language.
The competitions were available to U.K. residents.
By answering the question, "What does Fou Fou do when you stroke her tail?" on Tomy's website, you had a chance to win gift vouchers worth £100 to purchase "fashionable accessories and funky music" (expired contest page here).
By answering the question, "Where can you buy the new TOMY Fou Fou?" you had an opportunity to travel to the Nickelodeon Studios in London, with a Fou Fou.
If you won first place in another competition with a different question (don't know what question it is), you would win HMV vouchers that are worth £50 in total, Claire's accessory vouchers with a total value of £50, and a TOMY Fou Fou. Runner-ups could win a Fou Fou.
The foufougirl website had wallpapers that are now lost.
