I'm very much conflicted about whether this belongs here or in the list of robotic toys, so I'm leaving it in the off-topic section.

Kuru Kuru Pet Park

Kuru Kuru Pet Park (くるくるペットパーク) is a playset featuring a moving figure of a hamster, by Takara Tomy. It uses the same type of mechanism that Mutsu Waterlooper uses; the figure of the hamster is controlled by a magnet that moves beneath the surface of the playset.

It was displayed at the 2010 Tokyo Toy Show and launched in October 2010, with a retail price of 4179 yen (tax included). The price without tax is said to have been 3980 yen.

Appearance

Two versions of the playset exist. One version features a brown and white hamster named Bibi Ham (チュッチュハム) and has a pink platform, while the other version has a pink hamster named Chuchu Ham (チュッチュハム) with a blue platform.

The pink playset has a green patch of grass with some green illustrations of other hamsters and yellow butterflies and flowers in the areas of the playground that are pink. It also has a little house with a yellow roof, and an entrance and exit which allow the hamster to enter and leave the house. The playset has a pink food bowl, a blue mailbox, and a blue wheel for your hamster to use; all these items are translucent. The green patch of grass has illustrations of pink and yellow flowers.

The blue playset has a partially blue and partially pink surface, with pink illustrations of hamsters on the blue surface. There are yellow and pink illustrations of stars and flowers on the blue part, while there are blue and yellow illustrations of flowers, butterflies, and stars on the pink part of the playground. It has a blue food bowl, a pink mailbox, and a pink wheel for it to use; these accessories are translucent like the ones in the pink playset. The playset has the same type of house as the pink one.

Both playsets come with cardboard cutouts featuring illustrations of hamsters that you can use to decorate the playground.

Interaction

The playsets have a panel with five buttons. You can press the button with the hamster's face to make it do exercise by moving around in a circle while making noises. Pressing the button with a music note will get it to sing as it moves. Pressing the button with a sunflower seed icon should get it to go to its food bowl to eat. Pressing the button with a picture of a house will get it to go to its home and have a nap or use the bathroom.

You can put the hamster figure in the wheel and spin it manually. Apparently, when the mailbox glows, you can play a game with your hamster where you press the song button in time with the hamster's singing. I'm not sure what else the mail box is for, or if you can play any other games. The back of the playset's box mentions the hamster uses the mail box to send you messages.
