Xeno is an interactive toy by Giochi Preziosi, an Italian toy company.
It
came out in 2014. How I know this is that Xeno has appeared in toy magazines from 2014, official videos of
the toy were uploaded to YouTube that year by Giochi Preziosi, and it was predicted to be 2014's top toy.
The toy resembles a monster covered in rubbery bristles with long, stretchy ears and green LCD eyes.
Xeno has two teeth on the left and the right side of his mouth that stick out and two of them that are inside
his mouth, a purple nose, and some bumps on his face and neck. He has green snot hanging from one of his nostrils,
a purple ring around each eye,and purple eyebrows. Xeno has three stretchy rubber tips hanging from each ear,
and three of them on his tail.
Xeno comes in 11 variations. Xeno can come in purple (ultra violet), blue (pacific blue), or red (burnt orange).
These three colors can come with paint on their mouths and tummies or with paint only on their mouths.
These colors are only known to have been sold in Italy in cube-shaped boxes with the Xeno logo on the front.
The colors include orange, pink, and blue (but without any paint for its mouth or tummy). The pink and orange Xenos
may come with or without painted mouths. A few Bulgarian websites seem to have been selling the colors, using stockphotos
of them, but I cannot confirm if the colors were really sold there.
The pink and orange colors came out in 2015.
Xeno speaks his own language mostly (referred to as Xenese by the official Twitter account and
official website) with a bit of English.
But his language consists of grumbling instead of words, so you can't
tell what he's saying. You can tickle Xeno by
pressing his feet, make him fart by pressing his tail,
feed him by pressing his tongue, pet his head, or press his arms and feet. Two Xenos can interact with
each
other if you place them infront of each other while they aren't feeling tired.
Xeno can move
his ears up and down, shake from side to side by moving his feet up and down, tilt himself back
and forth, and open and close his mouth. He also burps and farts a lot.
Xeno can interact with his app which you can use to clean him, feed him different foods,
There are five games you can play with Xeno. To play a game, press both
of
Xeno's hands for a few seconds. Press "Yes" (his right hand) if he asks
you "Wanna play?" Pressing his left hand means "No". Xeno will suggest up to five
games for you to play. You can choose the game you want to play by pressing either "Yes"
or "No" for any game Xeno suggests.
Xeno will burp in a certain rhythm. You should repeat the same
rhythm by pressing one of his hands.
Xeno will close his eyes. You should guess where he will look
before he re-opens them, by pressing one of the sensors:
Xeno performs a sequence of looks along with a burp: up, down, right, and left.
You should repeat the sequence correctly by pressing the corresponding sensors
(as listed for the previous game).
Xeno will open his mouth wide. You should try to put your finger
in his mouth before he closes it.
Press one of Xeno's hands at the exact time he burps.
Where can I find Xeno?
If you are searching for one, you should check websites that sell second-hand things.
You will probably find some Xenos with torn skin, even if in new condition, since I don't think
the rubber's quality is good. Look at listing photos carefully.
Don't forget to check under your bed, too...
Four AA batteries.
Does Xeno have an on/off switch?Yes. He also has a "Try Me" switch.
Where can I read Xeno's manual? You can visit Xeno's website on the Wayback Machine to view it.
If not, click here to view an upload of it.
A list of devices compatible with Xeno's app can be found here.
Unfortunately, the app is not available on the app store for newer devices to download.
Some websites such as apkpure and apkfab have the android version of Xeno's app.
If Xeno gets dirty, clean him gently with a damp cloth.
The Xeno in the second video could be a sample since its snot is translucent.
The intro to the video shows drawings of what could be
art for a commercial storyboard.
